Pilot

Welcome to the Fastlane. Meet Van Ray and Deaqon Hayes, mismatched cops who team up to take down assorted lowlifes in Los Angeles. Their shady, but oh so very sexy boss Billie Chambers introduces them to the "Candy Store," a downtown warehouse packed with confiscated goodies, including flashy cars and clothes. All of which come in handy as they go undercover to nail a corrupt DEA agent and his beautiful sidekick. How it all started: LAPD detective Van Ray "borrows" $100,000 from the evidence locker to make him look like a serious player when he meets with Cassidy, a gorgeous fence who's dealing in very fast, very hot cars. His partner, Andre Hayes, is less than happy about it. And who can blame him: Van gets to drive the race car and get fondled - er, frisked -- by the blonde while Andre just holds the money. The bust goes wrong and Andre is killed by a Mysterious Sniper Dude. Cassidy escapes with the cash. Van's superiors tell him to get the money back, fast, or he'll face the consequences. Where does he get such wonderful toys? Not everyone at the cop shop has given up on Van, however. He meets up with Billie Chambers, who's looking for someone who can go so far undercover he doesn't even show up on the LAPD radar screen. And she's got incentives - he can take his pick of all the fast cars, hot clothes, and other goodies that have been confiscated from crime bosses to use as camouflage. The only way to beat 'em is to join 'em. Meanwhile, in New York: Deaqon Hayes, an NYPD narcotics officer who used to be one of the bad boys, gets the call that his brother was killed. He jets off to LA to get his revenge. His shady-past friends tell him that someone is making a nice profit relieving criminals of their toys. If he can find out who's behind the crimes, he'll find the man who killed his brother. The boys meet: Van meets up with the fence again. She's trying to figure out if he's a cop, so she asks about Andre. Van shrugs him off—he was a nobody. That's not such great thing to say, as Deaq is sitting right behind him, listening to every word. Deaq lures Van into a hotel room, and expresses his displeasure by pointing a large gun at Van's head. Van figures out Deaq is Andre's brother. Deaq is unimpressed. Their fight takes them over the balcony and into the pool. Now the police are unimpressed, and the boys end up in the slammer. Billie bails the boys out. She tries to recruit Deaq, who is just focused on payback for his brother's killer. He agrees to help out. Van meets up again with the very hot fence and places an order for another very hot car. They have a deep philosophical discussion, which apparently requires nakedness. The boys follow Cassidy, who meets up with Mysterious Sniper Dude. He shows himself to be Evil Mysterious Sniper Dude when he beats her up just for the fun of it. The boys follow him, only to discover he is Evil Corrupt Mysterious Sniper Dude—he's a crooked DEA Agent! That's how his gang knows where the best crime toys are! It's my party: Billie is not surprised. She's had her eye on Evil Corrupt Mysterious Sniper Dude—ok, his name is Adam Kane—for a while, but she needs proof to nail him. Deaq being back in town gives her the perfect opportunity. They set Deaq up in an expensive house on the hill and fill it with toys—including the car that Van just ordered from the fence. Now it's time to have a party, which will be the bad guys' cue to rob Deaq and his cronies. They bite, but the SWAT team Billie is heading misses Kane. He drives away with the car, but Deaq comes along for the ride. How it all turned out: Kane drives out to where Van and Cassidy are waiting for the car. He knows that Van set him up, so he's looking for blood. After a brief gun vs. truck duel and a bit of butt-kicking, the boys have Kane in their sights. Will Deaq cross the line and kill him to avenge his brother's death? We'll never know—Cassidy gets there first. The boys let her go, then show off Kane's ill-gotten gains. Van gets the stolen money back, Deaq gets a new calling, and Billie gets an undercover team to call her own. It looks like this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Girls Own Juice

8.3 Million viewers, Ranked 54 Van and Deaq befriend and cook up a sting with a trio of jewel-heisting, motorcycle-riding hotties who may or may not be working both sides of the law; the guys take Billie's prized Mustang out for a spin. The Candy Store has a new toy: Billie just got Steve McQueen's Mustang from "Bullitt," and it doesn't get any cooler than that. McQueen was the reason Billie became a cop, and she loves this car. The boys want to take it out for a spin, but Billie shoots them down. Then, in a stunning lapse of judgement, she leaves for the weekend—and leaves the keys in the car. On the road again: So what did you expect? The boys are driving around in the SteveMcQueenMobile, loving life and fighting over the radio. Just as they're about to come to blows over Stevie Wonder, they are interrupted by a motorcycle jumping the car. That's gotta be a traffic violation. They see two more baddies on bikes, closely followed by a cop on his motorcycle. The cop doesn't do as well as the crooks when it comes to clearing the car, and the SteveMcQueenMobile looks like—well, it looks like someone dropped a motorcycle on it from a great height. Billie will not be pleased. Follow those bikes! The boys figure that if they're going to bring back the car messed up, they'd better have something to show for it, so they take off after the crooks. After much swerving, one wipeout, a near miss and quite a bit of shooting, the boys give up. But Van, being the keen observer that he is, realizes that at least one of the booties they're pursuing is decidedly feminine (I think the lacy pink thong tipped him off). What? He's a trained observer. He's supposed to be looking at these things. My car! The boys try to cover their butts by telling Billie what they know about the crooks: They've hit three jewelry stores, they're taking pricey rocks, and they're escaping through rush-hour traffic on their custom-built superbikes. The Robbery folks are looking for the crooks, but they're looking for bad guys, not girls. Van and Deaq figure they can bust the biker babes, swap the custom bikes for some serious bodywork on the SteveMcQueenMobile, solve the crime and save the day (not to mention their jobs). Billie is not impressed, but she gives them 72 hours to straighten it out. Who were those bad biker babes? The biker babes—Jade, Shelly and Gina—are talking about the loot. Gina wants to use at least some of the money to pay for school and take care of her baby son, but Jade cautions them all to keep a low profile. That doesn't stop them from going to their favorite pool hall/karaoke bar to blow off some steam. There, Van and Deaq approach Jade posing as fences for high-quality rocks. Jade pretends to play along, then beats up Van on principle. She's not going to deal with anyone she doesn't know. Plan B: But it turns out the Biker Babes' usual fence has been busted for DWI (see?—drinking and driving can mess up anyone's life, even a criminal's), so they turn to the boys. Van goes with Jade to show off the money while Deaq checks out the rocks. Van gets to know Jade and starts feeling guilty about lying to her. Meanwhile, Gina and Shelly tell Deaq that Jade killed a guy, so Van better be who he says he is. They don't want to find out anyone's been talking to the cops. Speaking of the cops But the Robbery boys have their own source—they're leaning on Gina, telling her she'll never see her son again if she doesn't she rat out her pals. The next day, the cops break up the party as the babes wait to sell the rocks. Shelly and one of the cops get shot, and Gina and Jade run away. But Gina lets slip that she knew the shot cop, and Jade knows she was sold out. The boys bust in just as Jade's about to execute Gina, Gina gets away and the boys and Jade end up surrounded by a SWAT team and sharpshooters. Van tries to convince Jade to give up peacefully but she'd rather go down fighting. She gets taken out by the snipers.

Gone Native

Van and Deaq attempt to shut down a volatile group of Russian gunrunners while trying to determine if another undercover agent has become a criminal. Who's your baddy? The boys are waiting for their contacts—a violent, coke-snorting Russian arms dealer named Dimitri and his sexy sister Katya. Dimitri is just a means to an end—Billie tells the boys to snuggle up to him so they can get the goods on the real bad-ass of the episode, a gunrunner named Nicolai who is smuggling some seriously dangerous super-secret weapons. But while the boys are playing with guns and laying down their bad-guy street cred, someone's checking out their cars - and this mystery man has found clues that Van and Deaq aren't who they say they are. He blows up Van and Deaq's cars with a missile launcher, leaving them to hike back to civilization. The boys are not happy. Meet Mr. Dallas: The boys go back to the Candy Store looking for blood. But Billie has news for them—mystery man is actually ATF agent Dallas, the best undercover guy the bureau has ever seen. He's been deep undercover for a long time, and he stopped making reports a couple of months ago. The boys are going to have to work with him to get in with the Russians. If Dallas is still straight, they help him make the bust. If he's not, they help take him down. I feel sorry for the guy—or not: The boys break into Dallas' apartment to see if they can get a sense of whether he's turned. There's nothing personal in the place, and the boys actually start to feel a little sorry for him—he obviously has no life outside the job. Then Dallas and Katya come home. The boys dive under the bed, the happy couple dives on top of the bed and both pairs stay in their respective places for a couple of hours. (Dallas and Katya seem to be having more fun than Van and Deaq.) When Katya finally gets up to take a shower, the boys make contact with Dallas and set up a meeting. What do you bring to the party? Dallas is contemptuous of the boys—what do they have that he, with all his years of ass-kicking experience, does not? Well, the resources of the Candy Store, for one thing . Dallas grudgingly agrees to clear the boys with Dimitri. And what better way to do that than with a huge party? After many, many vodka shots, Dallas outs the boys as cops, then says he's just kidding. Dimitri is confused, but ends up laughing it off. I'm thinking Dallas is none too stable. So do the boys, who confront him about the "joke" and about his, um, intimate relations with Katya. Dallas says he loves her, then claims he's joking. What's with this guy? Must be love: Dallas has to collect some money for Dimitri from a rap mogul with a violent rap sheet, and he asks the boys for help. They agree, but are a bit concerned when Dallas almost kills the mogul in his quest to find the money. They still don't know if he's deep in character or just insane. Dallas gets serious for a moment, thanks them for their help, and fesses up to loving Katya. Deaq says it best: "What is it with you white boys? Can't trust you for five minutes with a mark in a dress." Sing it, Deaq. Enter Nicolai: Dallas says they're set for the sting on big bad guy Nicolai. But oops! He comes into town early, and no one is prepared. Deaq alerts Billie and she calls the cavalry. Dallas spills the beans to Katya, and she runs away. Nicolai shows off the uberweapon: a cell-phone/firearm that can blow a chunk out of concrete, get through metal detectors and pass the most stringent examination. Dallas announces that he's ATF and that they're all under arrest. Nicolai starts shooting and runs off, with Van in pursuit. Deaq and Dallas take on Dimitri. Dallas dives in front of a bullet meant for Deaq and dies. The bad guys get caught—even Katya—and the boys live to fight crime another day. But they are left wondering: will the life they have chosen turn them into bitter Dallas clones? Oh, the humanity.

Things Done Changed

6.4 Million Viewers, Ranked 73 When Deaq's ex-girlfriend Rosaria has trouble leaving her abusive husband, Alton Loud, Deaq convinces Van and Billie to help stop Alton's armed robbery crew before they steal millions in a well-orchestrated casino heist. Posing as Rosaria's recently paroled cousin, Deaq infiltrates the gang. But Van worries about Deaq's emotional investment in the case, and he and Billie must race to save Deaq when he is exposed as an undercover cop. Bad boys: The boys are going to a strip club, and it's not a recreational visit. No, they're with Boss Thug, Nice Thug and Psycho Thug, and they're carrying big guns. They storm the place, fire some shots and clean out the safe. On the way out, the manager comes at them with a handgun. Deaq and Van shoot him squarely in the chest. It looks like our boys have gone bad. Outside, Boss Thug tell our boys that they've passed the test—they're in the gang now. But wait! We cut back to the club, and everyone is getting up. Billie's there, in stripper gear, and the "manager" was wearing an LAPD flak jacket under his clothes. It was all a sting. And it worked. Flashback: Why the sting? Well, Deaq got a call from Rosario, an old friend who needed some help getting out of a bad marriage. Her hubby, Alton (previously known as Boss Thug), had done time for armed robbery, but he swore he'd gone straight. He lied. When she tried to leave him, he threatened to kill her. She wants him taken down. Deaq agrees to help, but says they have to play it his way. He and Van will infiltrate the gang and take them down from within when they find out about their next job. Cousins: Deaq and Van show up at Rosario and Alton's house. Deaq claims to be Rosario's cousin, just out of the prison for armed robbery. They're looking for work. Alton is suspicious and checks them out. First, he calls a friend in prison to get him to check Deaq's story out. Then, he tests the boys out with a little strip-club job. That's the sting, and the boys are in. Romeo and Juliet: Deaq claims he and Rosario are just old friends, but Van has his suspicions. He's right: Rosario comes over to Deaq's house and they get prone. It turns out Deaq and Rosario were a regular LA Romeo and Juliet—in fact, their romance caused a street war, and that's why Deaq left LA nine years ago. It looks like the sparks are still there. The plan: Alton briefs the boys on the plan: They'll be taking $2 million from an unspecified business by posing as an armored truck crew. He's not going to tell the boys where that business is until the deal goes down. Deaq is pissed, because he wants to take Alton out and keep Rosario safe. Bad ideas: Rosario sneaks over to Deaq's at night—she's scared and needs reassurance (plus maybe some nookie.) That turns out to be a bad idea: Alton gets a phone call from his prison buddy, saying no one had ever met this Deaq guy in the joint. He figures out that Deaq isn't Rosario's cousin, and is probably a cop to boot. He and Psycho Thug storm Deaq's house, beat Deaq up and threaten Rosario's life. This isn't good. The job: Alton makes Deaq call Van to tell him that the job is off. Van can tell Deaq is lying, and figures that their cover must have been blown. He and Billie persuade Alton's prison buddy to tell them where the job is going down—a casino. They rush to intercept. Alton still needs Deaq to help pull of the job, so he takes Deaq and Rosario with him. Action: Van finds Deaq, Alton and Nice Thug in the casino. Billie is in charge of getting Rosario out of the truck and away from Psycho Thug. There's some tire slashing and ass-kicking, and she does the job. In the meantime, there's a shoot-out in the casino, and Nice Thug is hit, so Van has something to feel guilty about. Deaq and Alton have a stand-off near a punctured tank leaking some flammable gas. Deaq flings a lighter at Alton, who gets toasted—Deaq dives out of the building and narrowly misses the same fate. Goodbyes: Deaq and Rosario are waiting for a bus—she's leaving town to escape the wrath of Alton's cronies. What, you expected a happy ending? That's life in the Fastlane: nobody wins.

Gabriella calls and says she has Billie and wants the diamonds back and hangs up. It goes to Gabriella's hideout and injects Billie with a dose of heroin, which Billie was once addicted to, and it fades out.
