Woodward, his Vietnam War partner, that if MacGyver couldn't beat the system, no one could. Dr. Jill Ludlum, the designer of the completely automated computer security system, makes a bet with MacGyver that he can't get in. She insists that no humans will be needed after the tests are complete, thus eliminating "The Human Factor." However, MacGyver breaks in fairly easily and surprises Jill in the second floor physics lab. Jill, surprised and a little disappointed, orders the system to shut down for the night. However, the computer picks up MacGyver's voice, and, recognizing an unauthorized voice, senses an intruder and immediately goes to a level one security alert. Jill's voice is no longer helpful as the computer will not recognize the manual voice override. The computer, ironically, goes into its "Artificial Intelligence" mode that it was designed for, and seals off all exits, trapping Jill and MacGyver inside. Worse yet, the computer activates a level two alert and begins creating a vacuum. MacGyver and Jill are trapped, with a computer determined to destroy them and only 30 minutes of oxygen remaining. Now, MacGyver and Jill must think of a way to beat Jill's own system, while relying on Pete and Col. Woodward to help them from the outside. Jill and MacGyver can't get to the control room, the only hope of disabling the super-computer. Meanwhile, Pete and Woodward are arguing over what to do, just as they did in Vietnam. Pete suggests immediate action, but Woodward hesitates to do anything without official approval. Can Pete and Woodward put aside their differences and figure out a way to save Jill and MacGyver before it is too late...?

Things don't improve when Tommy runs away to try and get the group rescued and ends up at the mercy of a mountain lion before MacGyver comes to the rescue. The plane's front wheel has been removed and has been replaced with a hollowed out log, lined up on a runway covered with a trough of mud. Can MacGyver get the aircraft airborne? After perfecting a science experiment, (non-alcoholic eggnog) MacGyver and his grandfather Harry Jackson go off to see a hockey game together- except good old MacGyver forgot the tickets at the Phoenix Foundation. Unwilling to miss the game, MacGyver and Harry hurry to the Foundation to retrieve the tickets. However, at the Foundation, four terrorists on behalf of the Liberation Front are busy trying to locate a bomb that they intend to set off at the Foundation. The four- with Victoria Charles the one in charge- kill a member of the Foundation to gain access to the building. After doing that, Charles scrambles to a computer to wipe out the record of the bomb in the Foundation's memory database and locate it. After doing so, she heads for a control room with the bomb and begins to assemble it. By this time, one of the terrorists, posing as a security guard at the front desk, has alerted the others that MacGyver and his grandfather are in the building. After consulting the Liberation Front, she agrees to kill MacGyver and Harry for an extra $100,000. MacGyver has caught on by now and is busy trying to figure a way to stop the terrorists from their plan. In the confusion that follows, Harry is kidnapped by one of the four and taken to the room with the bomb. After tying Harry up on a chair, a disloyal Charles kills her two accomplices (the other MacGyver knocked unconscious in the lobby). After doing this Charles, via the intercom, informs MacGyver she has Harry sitting with the bomb and he has 15 minutes to decide whether he wants to get out now or try and find Harry. She assumes (correctly) that he will try and locate Harry, so she waits in anticipation to take out MacGyver. When MacGyver gets to a computer to try and locate the bomb, he finds that Charles has erased the memory- and then she walks in the room, gun drawn. After MacGyver knocks the gun out of her hand, she attacks him with spectacular martial arts moves- until she flips herself through a window to her death. MacGyver then tries to access the backup file- only to find it is erased as well. MacGyver gets on the intercom and tells Harry to give him a signal. Harry, still tied up, knocks the phone off and turns on the intercom. He then repeadly pushes the number 5 on the phone with his foot. MacGyver figures out that Harry is on the fifth floor and rushes down to him. MacGyver finds Harry and unties him. However, there are only 90 seconds left before the bomb detonates- not enough time to get out of the building. Can MacGyver disarm the bomb in time to save himself and Harry...?

Surprised, MacGyver demands to know what is going on from the very alive and well Jack. Jack explains that he is mixed up with the CIA- particularly, double agents planning on selling out US security. The double agents then show up, and MacGyver and Jack are forced to make a quick getaway in a motorcycle with a side car. MacGyver and Jack get away, thanks to the maneuverability of the motorcycle versus the car the agents are in. The two then head over to Jack's secret underground hideout to discuss matters. Jack then explains that the CIA hired him to make some deliveries, and then a mole showed up in the agency. They then decided to keep Jack to see if he could root out the mole and report it to his contact. Soon after, MacGyver and Jack find that Jack's contact (codename "Light") was murdered. When they show up at the murder scene, the CIA mole claims they are the ones who murdered Light. MacGyver and Jack then are forced to escape again, this time from the police. After getting away, MacGyver calls the Phoenix Foundation to see if Pete can help, only to find that he is out of the country. He also finds that he and Jack are wanted for murder by the police and the CIA in Light's death. Later, the agents show up to kill both of them. Jack knows that the final delivery is scheduled for the current night, so he expects Shadow to be there keeping an eye on things. However, when they arrive, Jack cannot spot Shadow. However, he and MacGyver do spot the messenger, so they intercept the package. Shadow, who really is there posing as a dancer, then comes over, and the three of them are confronted by the double agents. They order them up, but a disturbance allows the three of them to escape to a side room. MacGyver ambushes the agents while Jack and Shadow find a way out. However, in the end, the agents are the ones who run away when MacGyver tells Jack that they can prove he and Jack are innocent. Jack then finds a slip of paper showing a business that may be the cover for the whole operation- a warehouse. MacGyver, Jack, and Shadow then head over to the warehouse and stake it out. The agents, as well as the seller, then take the merchandise (a crypt machine, capable of decoding US crypt messages) inside. The buyer, an agent from an Asian country, then shows up to finalize plans for its shipment. By this time, MacGyver has snuck in the warehouse and let Shadow in while Jack stands guard outside. Shadow recognizes the machine and explains what a disaster the US could have on its hands if the machine gets into enemy hands. The agents and the buyer and seller then catch MacGyver and Shadow. Jack attempts to rescue them, but is covered by an agent. They then stuff the three in the back of a garbage truck and take off for the nearest dump. Can MacGyver, Jack, and Shadow escape from certain death? Also, can they stop the shipment before the crypt machine falls into the wrong hands...?

Their only clue is a obituary for them and Jack Dalton. But MacGyver has his suspicions of who it might be - Murdoc, who actually caused the meeting between Mac and Pete in the first place. Back then, Pete was working for DXS (with a bad hairpiece...), while MacGyver drove Jack´s cab. Murdoc took a ride with MacGyver, dressed as a woman, but he managed to get away. Later, MacGyver and Pete were surprised by Murdoc, who pointed a bazooka at Jack´s cab. With MacGyver´s help they found their way out. So Pete interviewed MacGyver, when suddenly they found a bomb under Jack´s bed. In the end they managed to pin Murdoc down, and his only escape was into a building that was scheduled to be blown up. So how can he be alive now, and how will they get out of the truck before Murdoc, who has mysteriously returned, can blow them up in retaliation...?

The Secret of Parker House

MacGyver accompanies his friend Penny Parker to an old house she has inherited from a distant relative (her Aunt Betty) who mysteriously died thirty years before. Penny has the notion that the house is haunted, due to the talk that has been circulated about the house in the town. MacGyver has a tough time convincing Penny that "there are no such things as ghosts" as a result. However, Penny remains unconvinced at MacGyver's logic to the strange sounds that the old house has. The first night they are there, a lightning storm hits the gazebo, knocking out the power. MacGyver rushes outside with Penny in pursuit to find out what exactly happened. When Penny finds a human skull, she becomes convinced that evil powers are at work in the house. Soon Penny starts to feel watched, and MacGyver´s explanations for the sounds in the house seem feeble in contrast to the skull. Nonetheless, MacGyver, determined to solve the mystery of Aunt Betty's disapperance, creates a plaster model of what Betty would have looked like- exactly like Penny. Meanwhile, Penny has gone upstairs unaware that her coffee had been drugged with a hallucinogen. Disoriented, she tries on Betty's dresses and finds one that fits- strange, because the previous night looking in the closet Penny had found dresses nowhere near the size her aunt was- much too big. Still dazed by the affect of the drug, she stumples upon a ring in the windowsill- about the same time she is dragged into the cellar by a mysterious man who is "watching" her and the house. Her scream that follows brings MacGyver upstairs to investigate. He soon finds a secret panel leading to the basement and finds Penny, as well as Virgil, a powerful man who looked after the Parker house. He mistakenly had thought Betty had come home and carried Penny down by mistake. The mystery of the noises in the house is solved when they realize a moonshine machine which had been restarted was responsible. The sheriff and his assistant soon arrive and the sheriff claims Virgil is the one who killed Betty Parker. However, MacGyver concludes in contrast that Betty Parker was murdered by the sheriff, who sought to cover up the case due to scandalous behavior between him and Betty, which left Betty preganant- explaining the large dresses. The fact that Betty Parker was carrying an illegitimate child of the sheriff's would have destroyed his election campaign many years before. Therefore, MacGyver concludes correctly that Sheriff Howels pushed Betty out an upstairs window- right where Penny found the ring. Caught, the sheriff blows the boiler and traps MacGyver, Penny, Virgil, and his assistant in the cellar, leaving them to die. There is no other way out, as they all soon find out from Virgil. Can MacGyver save everybody from being burnt to a crisp is their own personal crematorium? And what will become of the sheriff, who left them for dead...?

FLASHBACK: MacGyver and his friends Chuck, Neil, and Jesse contemplate how they will raise the money needed to purchase a box of ammunition so that they can have fun shooting a gun belonging to MacGyver's father. When they finally raise the money and get the ammo, the four boys head out into a secret spot in the woods to target shoot with the gun. The boys take turns shooting at bottles, except for Jesse, who refuses and says he just wants to watch. After MacGyver has had his turn, he passes the gun on to his other friends. After a shot at a bottle, ne of them raises the gun to shoot an eagle in the trees. Quick thinking MacGyver rushes toward his friend, knocking the gun out of his hand, sending it flying through the air. When the gun hits the ground, it discharges, shooting Jesse directly in the abdomen. After seeing their friend shot, Neil and Chuck run away, leaving MacGyver to tend to his dying friend. Using his bicycle as well as another left by Neil and Chuck, MacGyver rigs up a trailer-type attachment and secures Jesse on it. MacGyver then gets on his bike and makes a break for the main highway. MacGyver begs for help from the passing motorists until one of them stops and summons emergency assistance. The paramedics arrive, but despite all their best efforts, as well as MacGyver's, Jesse dies right before MacGyver's eyes, forever haunting him about that fateful day that he and his friends chose to play recklessly with firearms. PRESENT: MacGyver heads back to his hometown of Mission City, Minnesota to meet with his friends Chuck, a firearms dealer, and Neil, a police officer, to fulfill a childhood pledge to unbury a time capusle they had buried twenty-five years before. MacGyver is hesitant to unbury the time capusle, haunted by the childhod death of his friend Jesse. He soon finds that his friends Chuck and Neil are also hesitant about returning to the site, but they agree they owe it to Jesse to keep the promise they made so long ago. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the three men, Chuck's son Danny and Neil's son Sean are wrapped up in drug trouble with a local drug dealer named Spider who is owed two hundred dollars by Danny. After a failed attempt to gun down Danny in front of his fathers shop, he and Sean devise a plan that could eventually get Spider caught red-handed with a new shipment of crack from LA, Sean tells Danny to hide away until the following Tuesday. Before Danny can slip away, MacGyver gets word of what is going to happen and catches Danny taking a gun from his fathers shop. MacGyver, despite his efforts, is unable to keep Danny from running away as planned. MacGyver now knows he must get to Danny before Spider does, knowing the LA drug dealer will stop at nothing to complete his affairs in Mission City. The Amish boy manages to get MacGyver back to the land of his people, where he is cared for. The Amish also manage to exavate MacGyver's jeep from the wreckage and bring it back as well. However, MacGyver soon finds himself in the middle of a bitter disagreement between the Amish, who refuse to leave their land, and the construction company, who is authorized by the government to clear the land for a new highway interchange. An overzealous member of the construction team is so frustrated by the lack of Amish compliance that he dynamites the well the Amish have built on the land in question. The event lands him in jail, but does not change the orders the construction team has to fulfill. The deadline for the Amish to leave passes and the state police are called in to disperse the Amish. Figuring the Amish will eventually withdraw, the foreman orders his team to begin by going around the back to begin the clearing process. However, before the machines move to far, Christy, the daughter of the foreman, runs in front of the bulldozer, refusing to see her best friend Jacob (the Amish boy) and his family driven from their home. Shortly after, Christy falls into the well shaft after the ground, which had been disrupted by the dynamite, collapses, trapping Christy in the well, thirty feet from the surface. The construction company and the Amish now must put aside their differences to rescue the young girl, if she is to survive. Can the two of them, with MacGyver's assistance, rescue Christy before it is too late...?

MacGyver, on assignment for the Phoenix Foundation to test current field operatives to see if they are still in shape, has quickly grown distressed at the fact that he just washed out one of the supposed "best" field operatives. When he asks Pete to take him off the job, Pete agrees- after he qualifies him. The next day, MacGyver and Pete head out into the wilderness to begin the survival testing course- with Pete as the student and MacGyver the instructor. Soon after Pete completes an obstacle course, which other students had named "MacGyver Land" the two find an airplane with two pilots who had only recently died. MacGyver and Pete soon realize the plane was on a reconnaissance mission for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and that it was shot down by a heat seeking missile. Through the use of battery acid and the juice of an orange, MacGyver is able to briefly view the pictures the DEA plane took before being shot down- a sea plane on a lake and two men, presumably drug smugglers, with a handheld missile launcher. MacGyver then determines the only lake large enough for a sea plane to land in is the nearby Crystal Lake. MacGyver then makes Pete aware of the fact that they cannot call for help and it is a three day hike out of the wilderness. They soon decide to head for Crystal Lake to try and stop the drug smugglers. Meanwhile, the smugglers have just unloaded another shipment of cocaine into a secret cave and have headed back to their "base" ship in the ocean for another shipment. While they are gone, MacGyver and Pete arrive and have a look around the cave. Not surprisingly, the smugglers soon show up while MacGyver and Pete are still inside. Eventually, the two are caught and a grenade is tossed in their direction, which blockades them in a section of the cave with no escape route- with the exception of a hole that is thirty feet above them. MacGyver figures a way to reach the hole, despite Pete saying it cannot be done. MacGyver proves him wrong by reaching the top fairly easily. Now it's time for Pete- who's a little out of shape to say the least- to do the same. After much frustration, Pete makes it to the top. MacGyver climbs out of the top of the cave via a pick hammer- but doesn't realize that the smugglers have heard the sound of the hammer from their position. While one of them investigates the strange sound, MacGyver tosses Pete the hammer back. In his haste, Pete misses the hammer and the rope attached to it. Meanwhile, the smuggler has assumed the sound was nothing and has gone back to the sea plane to continue his unloading. MacGyver is able to help Pete out of the cave- barely- but there is another problem now. Can MacGyver and Pete stop the cocaine distributors before their buyers arrive to take it all away? Will Pete's seemingly lacking physical fitness spell disaster for both himself and MacGyver...?

MacGyver, returning home one night, finds Murdoc waiting for him at his dinner table- with dinner waiting. Murdoc sets MacGyver up for execution and forces MacGyver to admit defeat to him- or be killed via cyanide. After that, Murdoc warns MacGyver of his intention to kill him and then leaves. MacGyver knows the professional killer is not bluffing- and he knows he will use anybody and do anything to get to him...
