Willy's Story
Lapsed Catholic plumber Willy Houlihan(Christopher Eccleston) is about to tell his wife Carmel (Pooky Quesnel) that he's cheated on her when their daughter (Joanna Higson) announces she's getting married. Willy struggles with his secret and with the costs of the wedding so he makes a pact with God that he'll give up his mistress, with whom he is planning to run away with, if God will help him with his financial difficulties. Later, Willy finds a packet of £20,000 in a taxi and bets it all on red in a game of roulette and wins; however, it turns out that Willy never gave up his mistress and the money that he had found was all forged notes. Willy is arrested at his daughters wedding for money laundering. He is tried and sentenced to 6 years in prison.
